Tip of the Month

Dear old Dad
Father’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking of a special gift to show him how much you love him. What could make him feel more special than personalized stationery that you made yourself? To make the gift even more unique, top it off with a sheet of personalized Custom Image StationeryStamps.

For a man with traditional tastes, try our PrintingPress design. We printed Dad’s name in black at the bottom right corner of an Ivory A7 card using the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. For a bold twist, we lined the Ivory envelope with a Black liner. We used the same design for the Ivory A2 folded note card and envelope.

If your dad is a weekend fisherman, try our PrintingPress Platinum design. We added a colorful trout to the top of the Ivory A7 card. We used a floating text box to add the name below the fish using the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We set the horizontal spacing of the text box to Expand by 4 pts for an airy look. We repeated the same design on the front of the Ivory A2 folded note card. Both cards are paired with Avocado envelopes lined in Ivory. To complete the look, we created Custom Image StationeryStamps using Ivory sheets featuring the trout above Dad’s name.

Our PrintingPress Extreme 4.0 design, featuring our Café au Lait stationery, works with any father’s style. We added a text box with Dad’s initials to the top of the Ivory A7 card. We set the background of the text box to be filled with brown, and added a custom border to the text box with the shape set to Oval. We added bullets on either side of the initials and set the text color to white so that the Ivory card shows through the brown oval. We used the Times New Roman font for the initials. We used the same design on the front of the Ivory A2 folded note. Both cards are paired with Chocolate envelopes lined in Ivory. We created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps using Ivory sheets featuring Dad’s initials.

To the Extreme

Fall festivities
If you’re planning a fall wedding, it’s time to push pastel colors aside and embrace an autumnal palette. Our PrintingPress Extreme 4.0 wedding invitation featuring an A8 Landscape Mountaincow Pocket Folder (pointed flap) uses oranges, yellows and our soft avocado green. We added a large paisley image to the left side of a White 3 x 5 inch custom cut card. We added the invitation text using the Times New Roman font with the Small Caps advanced text style aligned to the right side of the card. We used orange for the bride and groom’s names. We used a double-stick tape gun to adhere the invitation to a Metallic Mandarin Orange 3.25 x 5.25 inch custom cut card. Next we used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print an orange and yellow paisley pattern all the way to the edge of a White A7 card. We mounted the invitation and Metallic Mandarin Orange card to the paisley card, and then adhered the set to the Avocado Pocket Folder. We printed the directions on a White A7 card, and used a White 4-bar card and Metallic Mandarin Orange 4-bar envelope for the response set. We printed a sheet of 4 x 2 inch seals on a full sheet of White card stock and then trimmed each seal using a rotary trimmer. We used  a double-stick tape gun to stick the seal to a Mandarin Orange 4.25 x 2.25 inch custom cut card and then stuck the pair to the Pocket Folder flap. Slip the completed invitation into a Metallic Mandarin Orange A8 envelope and mail using Custom Image StationeryStamps. If you don't have access to a laser printer, use Matte Mandarin Orange A8 envelopes.

Last-Minute Lovely

A happy camper
It’s hard to say goodbye when you’re dropping your child off at sleepaway camp, so we’ve designed fabulous personalized stationery for your young ones who are cabin-bound this summer. Include personalized Custom Image StationeryStamps so that the letters actually have a shot at making it to you before the end of the summer.

If your son loves cars, then our PrintingPress design is right for you. We added a blue race car to the top of a White A7 card, with the camper’s name in the Boys on Mopeds font from our Easy Invitations Bonus Content CD at the bottom of the card beneath a pair of checkered finish line flags. We added a similar design to the front of a White A2 folded note card, but we put the camper’s name between the flags. Both cards are paired with Midnight envelopes. Create personalized Custom Image StationeryStamps for the coolest mail at camp.

Our PrintingPress Platinum design has a girly feel. We added a green border to the front of a White Scalloped card. We used a floating text box to add the camper’s name in pink using the Girls are Weird font from our Easy Invitations Bonus Content CD. We turned off the Make White Transparent setting for the text box so that it will block out the green line of the border behind the name. We centered the name within the green border on the front of a White Scalloped folded note card. Pair each card with a Clover envelope. We created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps to complete the look. If your camper isn’t girly, then skip the Scallops, swap the pink for blue and you’re good to go.

For a modern girl, try our PrintingPress Extreme 4.0 design. We added a custom border to a White A7 card. We set the border’s shape to Line (Top) and filled the border with a dotty pattern. We added a green inner pen to the border, and then typed the camper’s name in white using the Girls are Weird font from our Easy Invitations Bonus Content CD. We filled the background of the front of the White 4-bar folded note card. Since both designs bleed all the way to the edge of the card, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature. The cards have Chocolate envelopes lined in Pink Lemonade, and we created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps.

Special Occasion in a Snap

We did it!
If you are a newlywed, then chances are you have a LOT of thank you notes to send! No problem – our fabulous married stationery designs will give you a chance to send your thanks in style. To kick up the style another notch, we’ve include Custom Image StationeryStamps to match the stationery designs.

Our PrintingPress design features a pair of green doves nestled together in a cluster of branches atop an Ecru A7 card. We added the couple’s names beneath the love birds in green using the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We centered the same design on the front of an Ecru A2 folded note card. We paired both cards with Clover envelopes lined in Ecru, and created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps using the new Ecru sheets in the Small size.

For a beautiful, sophisticated design, try our Platinum project. We added a pair of fiddlehead ferns to the background of an Ecru A7 card. Next we used a floating text box to add the couple’s names in brown using the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We placed the text box on top of the ferns so that they show through the names. We used the same design on the front of an Ecru 4-bar folded note card. Both cards are paired with Chocolate envelopes lined in Avocado. We created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps using the new Ecru sheets in the Small size.

For a bold, modern look, try our PrintingPress Extreme 4.0 design. We added a custom border of blue and brown stripes to a White A7 card, setting the border’s shape to Line (Top). We created a monogram using the bride & groom’s initials in the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We used the Alternate font feature to set the color of the middle initial to white and the side initials to brown. We added the couple’s names and wedding date beneath the monogram. We used a similar style for the White 4-bar folded note card. Both cards have Chocolate envelopes lined in Powder Blue. We also created matching Custom Image StationeryStamps using White sheets.

Extreme Tip

Adhering to the rules
Ever wonder how we mount layers of card stock onto each other to create beautiful layered projects like this month’s paisley Extreme project?  Read on for instructions on how to purchase, load and use the amazing double-stick tape gun from 3M. The tape gun is worth its weight in gold if you have even one layered invitation project to do, and you will find yourself using it for everything from fixing torn and chewed board books to mounting photos into albums.

You can order the ATG700 and rolls of double-stick tape in our online store. When you receive the gun, you will need to load your tape into the gun. Start with the tape roll unrolling in a clockwise direction and then follow the diagram below to feed the tape through the rollers and tuck it into the wheel on the right. Make sure to wind the tape (without depressing the trigger) so that it is taught for best performance. Then replace the covers on each wheel and close the case.

When you’re ready to adhere your stationery, flip over the card and squeeze the trigger and roll the tape along the outer edge of the card. Hold the tape gun in place, and then rotate the card beneath the tape roll to continue along the next edge. Repeat until all edges are taped, then release the trigger and pull the tape gun away to tear the tape. Then carefully place the taped card onto the backing to adhere it.
