MONTHLY NEWSLETTER (DECEMBER 2007)

The holiday season is coming to a close and we’re celebrating with our new Metallic stationery. While you
sparkle with your new stationery, make sure you use a laser printer since the Metallic stationery is not compatible
with ink jet printers. As we unwrapped all our holiday gifts, we designed some great new thank you cards
to help you stay on top of things. If you know someone approaching a milestone birthday, why not throw them
a surprise party to mark the occasion? We’ve got a great invitation that will suit any age. If one of
your girlfriends is expecting, we have chic baby shower invitations to help you get the party started. And
since the holidays always seem to produce so many betrothals, we have elegant save the date cards to make sure
that your guests reserve the day.
Check out tips on downloading projects, borderless printing and more in our Newsletter
Notes section.

Thanks a
million
Whether you received
everything you wanted for the holidays or just a pile of fruit cakes, it is always nice to send a thank you note.
We’ve created
fabulous new designs to help you send your thanks.
Our PrintingPress design features our new Metallic stationery
in Candy Cane. We added a baby polar bear in a circle of green to the center of a folded Metallic White A2
folded card. We wrote the words “thank you” beneath
the cub in the same green using the Benjamin Strong font from Fonts & Graphics
2. Use polar
bear (white on green) StationeryStamps
on the Candy Apple A2 envelopes and it’s almost too cute to send.
For an elegant look, try our PrintingPress Platinum
design. We added a brown and blue flourish design to the front of an Ivory 4-bar folded note card with the
words “Thank You” in the Alyssa Black Tie font
from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings using the same brown. Pair it with a Chocolate 4-bar envelope lined
in Twilight.
Our PrintingPress Extreme
4.0 design is elegant
and festive. We added a green flourish to the front of a Metallic White A2 folded note card. We used a floating
text box to add the words “Thank You” in red using
the Alyssa font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings to the front of the card. We set the text box’s Text
Shape to Bend Down with the Curve height set to 0.4. Next we rotated the text box 26
degrees to the left to nestle the text in the curve of the flourish. Address the Deep Red A2 envelope and you’re
ready to send thanks.

Shh...
Sometimes a milestone birthday can be an emotional
event and you’re not really sure if you want to
celebrate it or hide from it. If you’ve got a friend on the fence, why not give them a push in the
right direction by throwing them a surprise party? We’ve got a sophisticated invitation to help you
spread the word... quietly!
We used PrintingPress
Extreme 4.0 to add a
custom stationery border to the White A7 card and set the Shape to Line (Left) and
the Width to 1.5 inches. We filled the shape with a new butterfly pattern and added a 4 pixel Inner
pen in the same orange as one of the butterflies. We adjusted the card’s margins to center the
text on the white area of the card and to leave a large top margin. We used the Benjamin Caps font from
Fonts & Graphics for Weddings to add the secret party
details. Send in a Mandarin Orange A7 envelope.

Hey baby!
Throwing a baby shower can be a lot of work,
but at least we’ve made the invitations a cinch!
Our stylish new designs will set the stage for a wonderful event.
For a girlie celebration, try our PrintingPress
design. We added an image of a pregnant woman to the side of a White custom cut 3.5 x 4.75 inch flat
card by pretending the card is folded (with the fold distance set to 1.75"). We added the image on
the right panel of the “folded” card and added the
text on the left using the Benjamin Strong font from Fonts & Graphics
2 in pink and brown. We used a
double-stick tape gun to adhere the White card to a Scalloped Deep Pink A2 card. To complete the look we
added pregnant profile (pink & brown) StationeryStamps
to the Chocolate A2 envelope lined in Deep
Pink.
Our PrintingPress Platinum design has a silhouette
version of the pregnant profile on the front of an Ivory A2 card. We added the silhouette as a floating
image and typed the invitation text in brown using the Benjamin Strong font from Fonts & Graphics 2 and the Noodles font from Fonts & Graphics 3. Her silhouette
is repeated on the pregnant silhouette (brown & pink) StationeryStamps on the Chocolate A2 envelope lined
in Deep Pink.
Our PrintingPress
Extreme 4.0 design features our
new square stationery. We added a purple pacifier to the top of a White custom cut 5.5 x 5.5 inch card. We
used a floating text box to add the text “What are
little girls made of? Sugar and spice and everything nice.” in a circle around the pacifier. We added
a custom border to the text box with the shape set to Circle, the Outline Type set to Dotted
(adjacent to fill) and 6 pt spacing. We added the shower details below in the same purple using the Benjamin
Strong font from Fonts & Graphics 2 and the Alyssa Afternoon
font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings.
We mounted the White card onto a 6.25 x 6.25 inch Square Lavender card using a double-stick
tape gun. We repeated
the pacifier image on the outside of the Lavender Square 6.5 x 6.5 inch envelope.

On
your mark...
Jingle
bells seem to lead so many couples to wedding bells, and the first thing many betrothed couples do is
decide on a wedding date. We recommend sending out save the date cards to your guests as early as possible
to make sure that they reserve the day, and our new save the date designs will help you spread the word in
style.
Our sophisticated PrintingPress design features
our new Metallic stationery. We added a bouquet of peonies to the top of a custom cut 3 x 5 inch Metallic
Arctic Blue card. We added the wedding details in the Benjamin Caps and Alyssa Black Tie fonts from Fonts & Graphics
for Weddings. We used a double-stick tape gun to mount the Arctic Blue card to a White Metallic A7 card,
paired with a White Metallic A7 envelope lined in Metallic Arctic Blue.
Our PrintingPress Platinum design combines Matte
and Metallic stationery for a modern look. We added a background image with white swirls on a field of twilight
to a Matte White 4-bar card. Next we added the text in white using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2 and the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for
Weddings. Since PrintingPress Platinum does not show white text, we recommend that you set the text color to
black to make changes, then set it back to white once you’re ready to print. We used a double-stick
tape gun to adhere the card to a Metallic Slate A2 flat card, then lined the matching Metallic Slate A2 envelope
in non-metallic Twilight.
For a clean, modern design, try our PrintingPress
Extreme 4.0 project. We used a floating text box to add
the month and year of the wedding to the top of the White A2 card. We set the horizontal alignment to Point
Justify to make the text on the top line large enough to fill up the same width as the bottom line. At
the bottom of the card, we typed out all the dates in the month, and then used a 0.22 x 0.22 inch shape object
to add a circle behind the wedding date. We set the Fill color of the shape to the same orange that
we used in the butterfly that we added as a floating image to the top of the card. We outlined the shape in
black. You can customize the design to your own date by changing the month, deleting a few dates if necessary,
and moving the shape behind your special date. For tips on moving the tiny shape, review this month’s
Extreme Tip. We used the Times New Roman font for all the text on the card with the exception of the ampersand
joining the bride and groom’s names, which is in orange using the Alyssa Afternoon font from Fonts & Graphics
for Weddings. We added Custom Image StationeryStamps featuring the bride & groom’s names and the
special date to the outside of the Mandarin Orange A2 envelope.

Zoom...
PrintingPress
Extreme 4.0 allows you to add as many floating objects to your stationery as you like, but if the objects are
small, you may find yourself resizing an object rather than moving it when you try to grab the object with
your mouse. Fortunately we’ve got a simple solution for you: zoom! If you increase
the magnification of your stationery, it is much easier to drag smaller floating objects around. In the screen
shot below, you will see our Extreme Save the Date project viewed at 100%.

Below we’ve zoomed in to 300%, making it
much easier to grab the small shape and move it around.

You can increase or decrease the magnification
using the Zoom combo box in the Toolbar. You can
choose one of the preset magnifications, set it to actual size, set it to fit in the screen size, or type in
any value that you like. You can also click on the Zoom In or Zoom out buttons to increase or decrease the
magnification. You can also press and hold the Control key on your keyboard and move the mouse wheel towards
you to zoom in or away from you to zoom out. When you zoom in or out, the program will center the window on
any object you have selected.
